The full moon in August occurs on Friday, August 12, although we can see it "full" between Wednesday and Saturday. It is considered a Supermoon, because the Moon is close to its perigee and looks bigger and brighter than usual. It will be the third and last supermoon of the year .

At its perigee on the 10th, the Moon will be 359,829 km from Earth in August.

THE PERSEID RAIN AND OTHER ASTRONOMICAL PHENOMENA

Like every year, in August we receive the meteor shower of the Perseids, which will reach their peak on August 12 and 13.

The longest meteor shower of the summer is the Delta Aquarids , which began in mid-July and had its peak visibility at the end of that month. We will continue to be able to see it during the first half of August.

We will also have Saturn in opposition , which will allow you to see it better. It will be on Sunday, August 14.
